Main Avenue Lofts Bring Residential & Commercial Excitement
November 10 was a huge day for the Magic Valley, as the $15-million mixed-use building Main Avenue Lofts saw its ribbon-cutting ceremony, with guest list featuring Senator Mike Crapo. With the four upper floors committed to housing, the first two floors host an assortment of businesses, restaurant space and retail space for women entrepreneurs working with the Idaho Women’s Business Center. It’s a welcome, telltale sign of Twin’s ongoing growth.
Festival of Lights Parade
Friday, December 9 will mark the start of one of Twin’s most beloved traditions. Over 50 local businesses and organizations will participate in the Festival of Lights parade down Main Avenue. This year’s theme is Holiday movies, guaranteeing a load of festive fun you won’t want to miss! InsideRadio published an eye-opening suggestion to broadcasters - continue increasing emphasis on digital. Based on the annual media outlook courtesy of Activate Consulting, it’s estimated that by 2026, 63% of audio time will be digital. For perspective, that figure that was at 51% as recently as 2019. One key takeaway is the staggering number of people who in 2021 and 2022, did not pay for a music service - showing promise for ad-supported futures.
Massive Lawsuit Involving Google Highlights the Importance of Local Radio
Seven states along with the Federal Trade Commission took legal action against Google LLC, and iHeartMedia Inc. On what grounds? “Deceptive endorsements” from radio personalities highlighting their use and experience with Google’s Pixel 4 phone; specifically, that “use and experience” didn’t actually happen. “Google and iHeartMedia paid influencers to promote products they never used, showing a blatant disrespect for truth-in-advertising rules,” said Bureau of Consumer Protection Director Samuel Levine. iHeartRadio is the largest radio-station ownership group in the United States with over 850 AM & FM stations.
