Radio, Media & Business
Radio Continues its Dominance of Ad-Supported Audio
Edison Research conducted its “Share of Ear” reports for Q1 2022, and the results couldn’t be much more favorable to radio. For “Share of listening to audio sources in a car or truck”, AM/FM radio clocked in at 59%...over three times as much as the runner-up of SiriusXM at 17%. No one denies that podcasts are growing, but they have a long way to go to catch radio behind the wheel, reporting in at 3%.
Good Enough for Home Depot, Good Enough for Any Business
The mammoth retailer has long embraced radio, but for the first time in six months, Home Depot was the single largest advertiser in terms of spot volume. Leaning into Memorial Day specials, the week of May 23-29 saw them run 72, 767 spots. Over all of 2021, they were the fifth largest radio advertiser. Suffice to say given their enormous growth, they are no stranger to the power of radio advertising.;

The most helpful is radio’s distinct effectiveness at local reach, since odds are prospective hires will be local as well.
